West Suffolk Liberal Democrats

NHS under strain

January 21, 2019 6:46 PM

West Suffolk NHS is facing an even worse winter than last year when West Suffolk Hospital became 100% full.

West Suffolk not meeting its target for A&E waits.

This Autumn, West Suffolk Hospital missed its targets for cancer care (target 62 days) and planned operations and care (target 18 weeks).

Helen Korfanty says: "The Conservatives have left the NHS chronically underfunded while need continues to grow and patient care suffers."

Liberal Democrats are calling for a cross-party initiative to create a fair but radical way to fund the health and care system. The current use of income tax places an unfair burden on some groups of people including younger people.
