Robert has been a liberal as long as he had any political thoughts and has been politically active since 2016. He lives locally in Red Lodge, but spent four of the last five years in South Cambridgeshire, where he worked closely with the team that achieved election of a Liberal Democrat administration in that district. "Liberals win by a local approach based on our principles - everyone should have a fair chance in life", he says. "And when they get elected, they run an administration efficiently and fairly, for the benefit of all residents, without wasting money on pet projects or favouring vested interests".
Robert has worked as an engineer across multiple industries through his life. He now leads a substantial team at one of Cambridge's most prominent tech companies. "My work requires me to analyse problems, work with large teams of people with a wide variety of skills, and find solutions If elected, Robert will work hard to ensure that the Conservatives don't have free rein on West Suffolk Council and that your needs are represented! He is passionate about preserving and improving the environment in our unique villages as well. Planning is a key responsibility of the district council, and Robert will strive to ensure that any development is sympathetic to the needs of local residents and meets the best standards for reducing the impact on climate change.
"I am really excited to be standing for The Rows. I'm really enjoying getting to meet as many of you as possible. If you have any local issues you would like to discuss; or if you can help us ensure that The Rows gets the representation it deserves; then please get in touch."based on data, not prejudice", explains Robert. "As a Liberal Democrat, I am committed to the same ideas in my political life: bringing people together to find creative solutions to my constituents' problems, fairly and without bias".
Robert is married with three grown up children. "I know what it's like to struggle to pay a mortgage", he says. "We had our fair share of problems in the past, I have nothing but sympathy for young families who struggle to make ends meet".
