Planning, puppies and trees
At West Suffolk Lib Dems we often joke amongst ourselves that we Liberals get so involved in dotting every 'i' and crossing every 't' that we get tied up in all our tidied up loose ends
My name is Jon London and I am the Liberal Democrat District Councillor for Exning. I’ve lived in West Suffolk for most of my life, moving to Exning in 2015. My wife and I fell in love with Exning and started our family here. I care deeply about our village, it’s the only home my two children have ever known.
To me this community is many things. It’s chatting to other parents while walking to Exning Primary School, it’s kicking a football about on the Rec, it’s chatting to friends and neighbours as they walk their dogs, long summer cycle rides down North End Road and exploring the countryside. It’s grabbing a couple of local friends and ‘Doing the Exning Three’.
I currently work as a science communicator, developing workshops for various clients, and as a full time dad to my two wonderful children.
I try to be as active as I can in solving issues reported to me by residents. I have a system where residents in Exning can report problems in the area to me and see the progress of what I am doing about it.

On Sunday 12 November, I had the honour of laying a wreath during Exning’s Remembrance ceremony on behalf of West Suffolk Council. Lest we forget.
The question I asked to the County Council in Ipswich about the situation that happened in Exning during Cadent's infrastructure works.
An article on BBC News about how I managed Exning's traffic problems with some homemade signs and my children's walkie talkies.
The full explanation of how I fixed the path between Stepping Stones and Exning Primary School!
“Jon, I saw in the Exning News that you were on the Highways group. Could you get the bulb in this streetlight replaced?”
